Meet Kari, the intuitive CEO and Co-founder of Occasions Box. As the second of six siblings, Kari's natural flair for thoughtful gifting positions her as a genuine expert in the art of giving. Equipped with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University and boasting over 20 years as a Paralegal, she decided it was time for a career metamorphosis.
Prior to embracing the roles of motherhood and wife, Kari embarked on a career in acting, driven by an unwavering passion for films, events, and a profound desire to channel her creativity. This persistent creative drive led her to share her vision with her older sister, Sarah, the owner of Dreamers Joy Events & Design, whose creativity she has long admired. Since the launch of DJED, Kari has been an integral part of numerous events, gaining extensive knowledge in event coordination, planning, and design. With a cheerful yet calm demeanor, she immersed herself in hands-on experiences, learning the keys to successfully executing exceptional events from start to finish. Recognizing this potential, she approached her sister Sarah to join her in this new and exciting entrepreneurial venture.
Kari's fervor for gift-giving and the importance of having the right partner by her side propelled her to take the leap and launch Occasions Box.
Throughout her years of gifting to friends and family and collaborating with DJED, Kari mastered the art of curating the perfect gift. Her drive lies in giving gifts that emotionally resonate with the recipient.
For Kari, every gift should bring a special kind of happiness to the recipient. Simultaneously, her love for helping others led to the creation of Occasions Box as the "Box that Keeps on Giving." Confident that Occasions Box will deliver the most extraordinary gifts, Kari envisions making a positive difference in the world. Meet Sarah, the visionary force, Chief Creative Officer, and Co-founder of Occasions Box LLC. Partnering with her sister Kari, Sarah has seamlessly blended her love for design, attention to details, and the art of crafting unforgettable celebrations into the very fabric of Occasions Box.
Sarah's journey into the world of beauty and creativity began in her formative years. Excelling in home economics and art classes during high school laid the foundation for her innate talents and sparked a deep-rooted passion for the arts and design. Prior to Occasions Box, Sarah had already sculpted her expertise through countless client, family, and friends' events as the founder | Lead Designer for Dreamers Joy Events & Design, a venture she spearheaded in 2010, orchestrating enchanting affairs for over 9 years.
Her time at the helm of DJED saw her not only orchestrating magical events but also freelancing for seasoned event planners and designers in the wedding industry, amassing a trove of experiences. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Felician College and an Associate’s degree in Fashion Marketing and Management from Berkeley College, Sarah expertly intertwines her creative flair with business acumen. The pinnacle of her professional journey was in 2015 when she had the honor of being mentored by Celebrity Wedding Planning extraordinaire Kathy Romero, the former CEO, and Head Planner at Preston Bailey Designs. Under her wings, she had the privilege of working on several stunning PB luxury events and weddings.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sarah harbors a passion for making a difference in the world, fueled by her love for music, photography and the arts in general. Her favorite color is blue, and she indulges in the simple joy of apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
As a devoted wife and mother, Sarah has embraced a semi-retirement from the events business, choosing to dedicate more time to her family. However, her creative spirit continues to thrive within the vibrant walls of Occasions Box, where she collaborates with her sister to breathe life into extraordinary gifts. Currently calling Northern New Jersey home, Sarah infuses every moment with the magic of creativity and love. Get ready to be inspired!
